CALL FOR ON-SITE VOLUNTEERS

 37th European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information – ESSLLI 2026

 

This is the first Call for volunteers for the ESSLLI 2026 summer school in Prague.

The European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information (ESSLLI) is a yearly recurring event, which has been organized since 1989. It provides an international interdisciplinary setting in which courses and workshops given by internationally well-known researchers are offered in logic, linguistics and computer science.

This year event will take place from August 3rd to August 14th 2026 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU. You can visit our website for more information.

 

Each volunteer will be provided following:
  • free registration fee waiver with full access to the summer school program,
  • daily lunch at the nearby Technical Canteen,
  • an opportunity to meet the students and experts from universities from various corners of the world,
  • a valuable experience with organizing a large international event.

 

Each volunteer volunteer will be tasked with following:
  • On-site participant registrations
    • Sunday, August 2nd - registration preparations and participant preregistration,
    • Monday August 3rd and August 10th - participant registrations.
  • Supportive tasks throughout the week:
    • registration/information desk attendance (will be scheduled according to the availability of the volunteers),
    • online support on the ESSLLI 2026 Discord server (providing information to participants and answering questions),
    • lecture room technical support (setting up presentations, reporting serious technical problems to on-site tech staff),
    • other on-site help based on the situation

The volunteer shifts will be scheduled based on the number of available volunteers to cater to the volunteer’s lecture preference as much as possible. Ideally, the expected time requirement is roughly 2-4 hours per day for 10 days (Monday to Friday, both weeks). The time requirements will get lower with more people volunteering.

 

Who are we looking for?
  • Students or aspiring researchers
  • People able to communicate in English

Previous experience with event organization is not required, however, it will be appreciated.
